2 Rivers Tool Training is committed to providing quality training in the correct and safe use of woodworking tools. Our trainer (Mark) has many years experience in the woodworking industry and in teaching and assessing all types of woodworking qualifications.
Portable Power Tool and Woodworking Machine Training
2 Rivers Tool Training specialise in teaching courses in the safe use of Portable Power Tools and Woodworking machinery. All the tools we use for training are modern, traditional and of a high quality.
Our short courses are normally either 1, 2, 3, or 5 days long in class sizes of no more than 4 students.

So what tools can we train you on?
In our workshops we have a large variety of quality hand, portable power tools and fixed wood working machinery. For you to learn with. These include: All the basic hand tools hammers, mallets, try square, marking gauges, chisels, saws and planes. Portable power tools include, saws, routers, drills, drivers, sanders, grinders, nail guns and planers. Fixed woodworking machinery we currently have are planer thicknesser, morticer, bench saw, mitre saw, spindle moulder and a wood lathe. However our trainers can train you on other woodworking machinery. Please contact me for further information

Accredited Courses
2 Rivers Tool Training now offer 2 fully accredited courses. These are ideal for your 'Continued Personal Development' (CPD), or if just want proof that you are certificated to use the Power Tools or Woodworking Machinery. Please note on completion of these courses there is a short written exam paper.
We are happy to do these courses either at your place of work or in our training center

Fixed Machine Woodworking Safe Operator Certificate
Units covered by this course include:
Understanding Risk Assessments, Key components and main features of the woodworking machine and their limitations, Risks associated with the use of woodworking machinery (Dust, vibration, noise, electricity). PUWER Regulations applicable to woodworking machinery. PPE, requirements. Selection and setting of tooling, and guards. Set up and safe operations of woodworking machinery. Machine care and maintenance.
This course is ideal for:
Supervision, Operative and Craft users
Teachers and Technicians,
All wood machine users

Safe Use of Portable Power Tools & Abrasive Wheels Certificate
Units covered by this course include:
Part One:
Understanding Risk Assessments and Method Statements. Hazards and risks with the use of portable power tools (Dust, vibration, noise, electricity). PUWER Regulations applicable to portable power tools. PPE requirements. Selection accessories and setting of tooling, and guards. Set up and safe operations of portable power tools. Inspection and safety checks, power tool care and maintenance.

Part Two:
Abrasive wheels used on: bench grinders, angle grinders, chop saws and disc cutters. Wheel markings, selection, inspecting, testing, handling, storing, dressing, and transporting. Main abrasive wheel legislation. Understanding cutting and grinding process.
This course is ideal for:
Supervision, Operative and Craft users
Teachers and Technicians,
All power tool users
